Analysis of terminal Deoxynucleotidyl Transferase Using Flow Cytometer and Immunoperoxidase Method
H. K. Kim
K. N. Lee
Abstract
Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase(TdT) is a useful marker for immature lymphoid cells and differential diagnosis of leukemia. In this study, the authors used flow cytometry and immunoperoxidase method to analyze TdT expression in human hematopoietic malignancies, in addition to conventinal immunofluorescent method. Compared with immunofluorescet method, t.he flow cytometric analysis was more objective and better for the presence of small number of TdT expressing cells. Immunoperoxidase method was easier in interpretation than immunofluorescet method, but the test procedures were tim&consuming and laborious.
